Genetically Modified Stuff, Monsanto

Tags: ,

I do buy organic, and stay away from whatever I consider as not good for my health. So I read stuff online, when I can. Of course, online can be anything. I guess it’s about authority that stands behind the article (website). I’m also a bit of rebel, anti-trust, anti-corporate, anti-whatever I believe is trying to control my mind, or the path I’m about to choose. I see today’s world as a machine that is trying to perpetually “grind” everything with the profit in mind. Put in, grind, get it out, put back, grind, and so on . . .

The run for profit is the cause of most (if not all) of the troubles from North to South of our planet. That’s how I see it.

To narrow it down a bit, more and more I’m coming across this name – Monsanto. I read some examples that I (obviously) could not examine and confirm myself, but they sounded quite convincing. I recall one article about cotton farmers in India, and another one (just read today) about cotton industry in China. There are many. A lot of this is mentioned even on Wikipedia – Monsanto on Wikipedia. And finally, Monsanto has its own article about farmer suicides in India.

Enough of links . . .

I’m thinking, and reading a bit, and trying to use my logic. Is it really OK to “play” with the nature? Are we really in charge to do it? Can we wait until many of us become ill? One more link: Congressman Dennis Kucinich and Supreme Court GMO Rulling.

Playing God has always finished in a very destructive way. Isn’t that the biggest injustice when innocent people get pushed into something they had no clue about, they haven’t been asked about, nor informed? How many of us read the labels on products we buy in stores? And for those that read, how many products carry unlabeled ingredients, including GMO stuff? So somebody, or a group of people has decided that they can let their own people (voters) be fed with crap, without even letting them know about it? The same people have decided to “poison” the environment we live in without asking anyone nor doing rigorous experiments? What experiments? Why bother about even experimenting with genetically modified crap?

I’m so afraid . . .

Vonage Phone Service

Tags: , ,

Vonage phone service seems to be a good deal. Currently they offer theirĀ  Vonage World Plan for $25.99 plus First Month of service free. This deal includes free Vonage V-Portal phone adapter, free Priority Shipping, and No Activation Fee. The deal is ON only with 1 year agreement which is bit scary, but they do offer 30-day money back guarantee which makes it bit easier to bite onto the offer.

The Vonage World includes bunch of countries so this plan is really good for folks that make international calls on regular bases. It is also good for those that travel a lot or if they’re stationed away from home for some time. As long as you have the Internet connection with speed at least 30 kbps (90 is recommended), you’re good to take the adapter with you and make calls like you’re in your city. Basically, you carry your Vonage with you.

For those that don’t need international plan, and don’t call much, there is even better deal which is Vonage Lite, for only $9.99 per month. This plan is limited to 200 outgoing minutes (US and Canada). You pay extra if you go over that limit. The incoming calls are unlimited. If you talk to somebody who also has Vonage, that is unlimited, too. It’s called Vonage-to-Vonage calls. Vonage Lite also comes with “1-year agreement” attribute.

Don’t know, it may be worth of trying.
